Abstract
This paper addresses the application of standards for interconnecting distributed resources to distribution systems. The emphasis for DG has shifted over the last few years and is currently on renewable energy. This article concentrates on solar photovoltaic (PV) generation and the sometimes confusing array of standards governing testing and interconnection. IEEE 1547-2003 establishes the basic interconnection rules, and several other standards are moving to align more closely to it.
