Abstract :
Measuring power quality phenomena poses great challenges to instruments designers as well as the users. The many phenomena having different characteristics call for different and possibly contradictory requirements on the data acquisition system. This article reviews the requirements needed for accurate measurement of power quality phenomena. It focuses on the sampling method and the digitization process. The results show that careful selection of data acquisition hardware is paramount to ensuring accurate measurements.
