Abstract :
In this article, we have described and analyzed the performance of a dual-antenna based Doppler spread mitigation technique for DAB Mode 4 mobile reception at L-band. Laboratory test results indicate a significant improvement in terms of pseudo-BER performance by using only two antenna elements and an MMSE type interpolator. This technique allows vehicles to reach speeds of 150 km/h while maintaining an acceptable pcBER under fast fading conditions. Analysis of the data collected during the Doppler field trials are underway to further capitalize on the potential of this technique.
