Abstract :
The author comments on the paper by R.G. Olsen et al. (see ib., vol.17, p.1142-52, 2002). The author questions the feasibility of the method for a 500 kV line, citing Ontario Hydro Services Company´s experience of ADSS on lines above 230 kV. The author expresses concerns regarding where the rope/resistive wire is used instead of ADSS, as well as making other points about the paper.
