Abstract
This paper describes improvements in the performance characteristics of linear parametric motors. Characteristic values such as the static thrust (Fs ), static thrust to mass ratio (Fs /M) and static thrust to input power ratio (Fs /P1 ), were improved by adopting a double excited structure. More-over, the parameter values were increased by attaching shading coils at each magnetic pole.
