Abstract :
The soft heating method is an induction heating method utilizing temperature-sensitive magnetic materials implanted in the body. In this method, the Curie temperature is the reference temperature and the generation of heat is controlled automatically. In this paper, we evaluate the performance of three kinds of soft heating elements: a temperature-sensitive ferrite rod, which is a hybrid device, ferrite powders, and temperature-sensitive Fe-P-C-Cr amorphous metal flakes. The ferrite rod can be applied to treatment of tumors in the rectum or vagina, and the amorphous metal flakes to deep-seated tumors.
