Abstract
The author discusses two applications of computer animation: forensic animation in court cases; and high resolution seismic models. The forensic application concerns a case study of human skull identification using computer graphics and modelling of the crime scene. The seismic application concerns a team of seismologists that used a cluster of four IBM RS/6000s to create a detailed 3D model of the faults and structures under California´s shaky San Francisco Bay Area.<>
