Abstract :
Experiments with varying filter bandwidth in a soliton fiber laser are reported. Continuous tuning over 50 nm was obtained for pulses of <400 fs duration. It is demonstrated that the spectral sidebands due to periodic perturbations may be reduced to at least 17 db below the peak of the pulse spectrum without affecting pulse duration.<>
