  • Abstract
    The compensation of the mismatch of beam bunch length due to longitudinal space-charge forces in crossing the transition energy is studied. The rms beam bunch length (envelope) equation for small phase oscillation is solved numerically. The results indicate that perfect matching of bunch length for high intensity beams is possible by using the ¿t-jump or ¿s-jump schemes.
