Abstract :
Analyses the oscillation characteristics of separated-electrode DFB lasers. The threshold condition, output power and wavelength are calculated as functions of the bias current from each electrode. The bias condition and modulation method are discussed to achieve pure amplitude modulation and pure frequency modulation.
