Abstract :
The authors evaluate architecture alternatives relating to the provision of a LAN emulation service over a connection-oriented ATM network, and present the LAN emulation architecture as actually adopted by the ATM Forum LANE SWG. The role of servers is discussed as is the provision of broadcast/multicast services
