Discussion on "The manufacture of a connecting rod", by B.C. Jenkins, at the London Section of the Institution

MR. HALES: There is just one thing I should like to ask Mr. Jenkins to explain right away. I have looked into the operations as laid out, and I do not see any provision in the early operations for adequate test and inspection for flaws or cracks. I am sure Mr. Jenkins will take care of this point as of course he would not wait for subsequent machining operations to show up the flaws or cracks.
