Abstract :
MR. ROBERTS referred to the question of drilling and reaming bolt holes, and asked whether any difficulty was experienced in keeping the holes in correct line due to the length of the bosses when drilling on a multi machine. MR. JONES replied that no difficulty was experienced in that connection. He thought this was because the drill bushes were made long enough and the component was located close against the bushes. MR. ROBERTS then asked what advantage was gained by using a lathe for the centre drilling over the sensitive drilling machine, if a suitable jig were used.
