            Abstract :
MR. ROBERTS: Have you ever attempted to white metal Durelumin rods? I did it one3 without much success. MR. PAGE : No. We always put a bronze shell in. MR. GILBERT : I would like to ask Mr Page if one of the reasons why they discarded Durelomaine rods was not big end rattle. Another point where he might find a lot of trouble with these rods apart from the change in shape is the heat conductivity by having to use a shell with the consequent possibility of an oil film getting between the shell and the rod proper. We did design experi- mental engines and tried these rods, but they were hopeless on *H the score of rattle alone.
