Abstract :
The characteristics of microtransformers were estimated by FEM. A microtransformer consists of a multilayered core and a conductor-embedded core. The dependence of both the inductance and the equivalent resistance of the core on the size is discussed, and the relationship between the magnetic properties of the core and the transformer characteristics is also considered. For a small transformer, a high permeability results in high efficiency, while for a large transformer, a high resistivity has the same effect.
