Abstract :
MR. W. G. GROOCOCK pointed out that the memorandum Mr. Dumas had referred to as being issued by the local committee, had been issued in fact by the Council of the Institution. Through its papers committee, it had formulated something for its members to think about prior to the general discussion at the various local sections on the subject of standardisation. It would be noticed that the memorandum, which they had all had, was built up of six questions¿six very pertinent questions¿since Mr. Dumas, in his lecture, had raised something which really made every one of those questions a vital one.
