Abstract
MB. ASHWORTH : It gives me great pleasure to move a vote of thanks to Mr. Roberts for the able way in which he has given his lecture. I thought perhaps he would have given us one or two of his secrets. There is a lot of scepticism as to what welding is worth. For many years I was in the position of having to decide whether a job should be welded or not. I often had to take a risk and have never been let down. (I am speaking of the jobs that were never intended to be welded). I want to stand over a welding job and see it done if I have to pass it. Take two articles of equal merit, ready for sale. One has been welded and the other is a casting. The appearance is not going to sell the welded job.
