Abstract
The original authors assert that to their knowledge `no one has applied genetic algorithms to optimisation of codebooks´ [see ibid., vol. 31, no. 17, p. 1418-9 (1995)]. I would like to point out to the reader that a Letter by M. Koschorreck and V. Delport entitled `Genetic algorithm for codebook design in vector quantisation´ was published in Electronics Letters, vol. 31, no. 2, p. 84-85 (1995). A reply is published
