Abstract :
The authors analyse polarisation mode dispersion in EDFAs. First, measurements were performed on each optical component included in the amplifier. Subsequently, measurements were repeated on the assembled amplifier and compared with the previous ones. A good agreement between statistical predictions and amplifier performance was found.
