Abstract :
A heuristic algorithm for the computation of the mean frequency and the variance of a Doppler signal is presented. The algorithm is based on an autoregressive method for spectral estimation. The algorithm will be used in echo-cardiography systems for the colour visualisation of the blood velocity in a vessel.
