  • Abstract
    Modified harmonic balance models for singlemode laser diodes and PIN photodiodes are presented which allow multitone simulations, necessary to design complex subcarrier-multiplexed (SCM) fibre-optic systems. The effects of intermodulation and dispersion in a DC-18 GHz SCM link are simulated at VHF and Ku-bands.
