Abstract
A numerical model for semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs) including all-gain dynamics, current-induced gain saturation, current-dependent gain dispersion, and spontaneous emission is proposed and validated. The developed model is suitable for the analysis and design of ultrafast all-optical signal processing schemes based on SOAs.
