Abstract :
A new Y-branch wavelength demultiplexer by K+ and Ag+ ion exchange in glass is proposed for lambda =1.31 and 1.55 mu m. Using optimally diluted AgNO3, extinction ratios over 20 dB can be achieved at both wavelengths with reasonable fabrication tolerances.
