Abstract :
This letter discusses a new method for calculating active power in the wavelet domain. When the voltage and current waveforms are analyzed using wavelets, the active power can be calculated by simply adding the products of wavelet coefficients without having to reconstruct the signals back to the time domain first and then use the traditional integration.
