Abstract :
This paper describes a minicomputer-based control system installed in a hydrogenerating station for the supervision and control of active and reactive power generation. The actual implementation and field testing, described herein, together with almost a year of operating experience have corroborated the initially advanced premises of low-cost powerful local automats. The automat described is capable of alleviating the system dispatcher while keeping him updated in a multilevel hierarchical control configuration on exact local conditions, thus permitting overall system simplification without diminishing total system integration.
