Abstract :
A mathematical model utilizing the actual phase variables of the machine is used for simulating a 3-phase induction motor fed from a current source inverter, on a digital computer. Using the simulation, the performances of the inverter and the induction motor are obtained when the motor operates at constant speed. Simulation is extended to the closed-loop control of induction motor drives, and the effect of variation of parameters such as the slip frequency on the transient performance of the drive is studied.
