BINGHAM (Section President, who presided): I make an admission at the outset that I know very little about this particular work, but having regard to the exacting conditions necessary in the use of some of the instruments which have been described to us, I am prompted to ask if their has been any attempt in the field of optical measurement to work in vacuum?
