Abstract
Laser diodes monolithically integrated with spot-size converters operating at 1.3 μm and having a 7×11 degree far-field pattern and a -2.4 dB coupling loss to fibre with good alignment tolerance have been successfully fabricated on 2 inch substrates with satisfactory uniformity and reproducibility
