Abstract :
A WG10 waveguide resonator has been used to compress microwave pulses from a commercial 3MW magnetron source. Pulse powers approaching 200 MW and of 8 ns duration have been produced using an SF6/N 2-filled waveguide cavity, with laser initiated switching to an output tee. The use of a commercial magnetron and laser switching, and the inclusion of an inductive iris in the output port to increase gain, are unique aspects of this work
