Abstract :
The tragic loss of a Concorde in July 2000 sent shocking images around the world. There were calls to have it grounded, but a combined effort by airframe and engine makers, airlines and the certifying authorities has seen the critics defeated with a triumphal return to service in November 2001. Here the work undertaken to return the Queen of the Skies back to her rightful place is reviewed.
