Abstract :
A stochastic model of mission effectiveness for a system which is required to perform a random number of tasks during its mission is developed. Mission effectiveness is defined as a combined measure of availability and reliability at each task-arrival time. An analytic model is derived under a general set of assumptions. Other models are outlined to show the wide applicability of this model for mission effectiveness
