Abstract :
A method is proposed for using the cable resistance of self-regulating cable for pipeline temperature feedback and control. A controller is described which accomplishes this control without any external temperature sensors. The use of a computer program to design heating circuits and provide setup instructions is reviewed. The workings of this program are developed in some detail, and results of a typical calculation are presented. A brief summary of the advantages of standardizing on high-temperature high-voltage cables is presented
