Abstract :
A methodology for dynamic analysis of AC contactors is presented. In these devices, mechanical and electrical parts are coupled and it is necessary to evaluate with good precision the electrical parameters, especially the inductances. The device is voltage fed through a sinusoidal source; the dynamic force equation is considered; and a method for numerical integration is adopted. A finite element method is used to determine the parameters used in an equivalent circuit. The comparison between theoretical and experimental results shows that the methodology is consistent
