Abstract :
A three-dimensional electromagnetic model of a full superconducting generator is presented. Magnetic field calculations by two different methods (analytical and finite element) are given for a single winding surrounded by an iron core. The results of the two methods are compared with each other and with experimental results. Results are also given for a full generator in steady state, in terms of characteristic reactances of the machine and magnetic fields in the end region
