Abstract :
A novel cavity for a Yb-doped clad-pumped silica fibre laser was designed to enhance the lasing efficiency and the pump absorption into the Yb-doped core, and to provide efficient packaging with low pump power leakage for fibres with totally different parameters. From this cavity setup, we obtained a high power singlemode laser over 3.8 W with a sharp line-width and a slope efficiency of 85%
