  • Abstract
The authors present the COSBEM program for solving 2-D stationary electromagnetic problems. It determines the complex potential by using complex splines and an analytic Poisson solver. The program takes into account the singularities at the corner points of the boundary and also provides an error estimate. The algorithm combines the advantages of using the theory of complex variable functions with those of numerical methods. Examples are given for the magnetic field computation for a DC excitation circuit of an electrical machine, or in the slots of electrical machines containing massive conductors run through by the current
