Abstract :
A novel approach to the design of multidimensional (MD) lossless filters is presented. This approach is based on the lossy transformation technique (LTT), which was originally applied to the synthesis of lumped and/or distributed lossy microwave networks and is such that a new class of MD networks can be obtained. To illustrate the application of the approach, the design principle of two-dimensional (2-D) quadrant fan filter is proposed and compared with image parameter method. Then, a new class of 2-D reactance functions is deduced via substitution. Finally, a design example is given
