Abstract
A two-phase ac-ac matrix converter configuration is presented based on direct power conversion without any intermediate dc stage. The modulation strategy is developed to provide sinusoidal output waveforms with two-phase loads. The proposed strategy can generate the two-phase output voltages/currents where the magnitudes are independently controlled, and the phase difference is fixed at 90°.
