Abstract :
The authors present an expert system for the design of contactors. This system couples preliminary design using heuristic rules and electromagnetic analysis based on the equivalence of electric and magnetic circuits. The expert system easily takes into account the preliminary design process and has been achieved with a high interactivity level. It uses a blackboard architecture to manage and control and knowledge of the whole system. This approach has given good results with respect to the integration of various knowledge models used
