Abstract
To evaluate cosmic-ray measurements, the chord length distributions for various elongations of cylindrical detectors were determined for isotropic and nonisotropic (J = J0Cos¿¿) radiation fields by Monte Carlo techniques. The mean chord lengths obtained from the calculations are in excellent agreement with those obtained from Cauchy´s theory.
