Abstract :
Review Companies seeking to change their operating concept from task specialization to process centering can look to the Internet for approaches and counsel. Suggestions for identifying and naming core processes are abundant. Theories are shared for energizing self-directed teams of employees to focus on common process objectives across departmental boundaries. Strategies and criteria are given for successful benchmarking. Tools, including software, are evaluated that facilitate measurement of outcome values. The author provides an annotated list of sites representing examples of Web resources with useful information about various aspects of process-based management, including related theories, practices, and tools.
