Abstract
MR. SCOTT : I hope after hearing the lecture tonight, it will cure any of you who had ideas about entering the Plastic world, and deter you from carrying out that project. I am sure it is a very complex subject. I think the only thing that our lecturers tonight have missed out was Vitamins A. B. C. and D. It has been a wonderful lecture from my point of view, and I have no. regrets in having asked at the beginning of our session for a paper on Plastics. I am now going to open the meeting for discussion, but there are one or two things I cannot quite understand, and which I would like to ask the lecturers. As an opening, I do not understand how they apply the heat to the various powders used in the manufacture of all the different kinds of plastics ; their diagrammatic lantern slides omit that very important thing to a meeting of engineers. How do they apply the heat apart from the electrical application ?
