Abstract
Single-way rectifier circuits are often quoted for low-voltage applications. Often, the operating losses are significantly higher than would be expected from the purchase quotation and tests. In addition, there are many potential pitfalls in the operation of systems with interphase transformers. This paper will detail the actual operating losses of a typical single-way rectifier. Several other operating problems with such units will be detailed. Suggested specifications will be shown to help avoid such problems.
