Abstract :
When simulating electric machines, the magnetic field analysis and the circuit calculation are closely coupled. The authors present a method in which the combination of Maxwell´s equations and circuit equations is solved simultaneously. The tableau approach as nodal formulation is applied to the circuit model. The authors describe a novel generalized approach for considering the external networks in the harmonic balance finite-element method they have proposed. The approach is applied to the analysis of a magnetic frequency tripler with circuit elements
