Abstract :
Mossbauer spectroscopy (MS) and magnetooptical studies of RF-sputtered TbxFe100-x (10<x<34) films were carried out. Spectra were measured at room temperature in a transmission geometry. All the spectra were fitted to a hyperfine field Hn distribution. The average iron magnetic moment μFe over the whole distribution was obtained for a wide range of Tb-Fe film composition. The correlation between MS and magnetooptical data was studied. The effective values of the angle between the film normal and direction for Fe atom moments μFe were obtained. Possible reasons for iron moments divergence from the film normal are discussed
