  • Abstract
Despite the increase in venture capital funding in Europe over the last few years, new and innovative financial incentives are needed to bridge the current gap between entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. While there are business competitions already in operation to help companies, more initiatives are needed. A major obstacle is a European requirement that requires companies to stump up the same amount of money as the financial aid they were provided. Another key issue is that there is no conformity about intellectual property. To address the gap in the funding chain, entrepreneurs are encouraged to ask investors to get involved via franchises or via initial public offering (IPO). Other innovative ideas are also coming from a new generation of local and foreign entrepreneurs who are capable of developing inspired business plans
