Abstract
Engineers from abroad are in high demand in the UK but they may not be a straightforward solution. There are legal, health and safety and cultural and management issues that manager and organisations should consider before embarking on this solution to skills shortages. Recruitment and skills development will be an ongoing battle for business and in the light of continuing pressure, recruiting workers form the EU is one of the best options for organisations who need to attract skilled and unskilled workers to help them maintain and grow their business. However, just as every employee needs to be managed, supported and developed, organisations need to appreciate the unique issues involved with this talent pool
