Abstract :
A mathematical model is proposed in order to analyze interparticle interactions of particulate recording media, and the physical nature of the Henkel plot is investigated. The magnetization of a noninteracting particles assembly is described by an integral of the distribution of the switching field of isolated particles, and interparticle interactions are described as magnetic field modifications at the integral´s upper boundary. The calculated Henkel plot, assuming the normal distribution as the distribution of the switching field, is in agreement with the experimental data
