Abstract :
Highly refractive silicon etalons have been used to reduce the insertion loss from 4.4 to 2.3 dB and a 40 Gbit/s tunable dispersion compensator with a plusmn250 ps/nm tunable range and <plusmn1.5 ps group-delay ripple has been developed. Owing to the low-group-delay ripple, a 1000 ps/nm tunable range in a double-pass configuration is demonstrated
