Abstract :
A transient finite-element simulation to establish the extent of eddy-current effects in pulsed magnetic field measurements is presented. The utility of the package is demonstrated by simulating the pulsed measurement of the hysteresis loop of an NdFeB magnet. Guidelines are proposed for the selection of pulse durations so as to ensure minimal eddy-current errors in the measurements for a given dimension of magnet
